Weinblatt Named to Editorial Advisory Board of Law Enforcement Technology Magazine

(Orlando, FL, December 20, 2005)-- Police writer and expert Richard B. Weinblatt has been appointed to
the Editorial Advisory Board of Law Enforcement Technology Magazine, a leading police publication.  
Weinblatt was appointed by LET Editor-in-Chief Ronnie L. Garrett.  His term of service begins in January
2006 and is for one year.  Weinblatt has also been contracted to write articles for the publication.  Law
Enforcement Technology Magazine, based in Wisconsin, reaches over 30,000 police professionals and
decision makers.

"Reserve Power" Column Launched on Officer.com

(Orlando, FL, November 22, 2005)-- Well-known reserve law enforcement expert Richard B. Weinblatt's
"Reserve Power" column launched today on Officer.com, a leading law enforcement website.  The column
covers volunteer and part-time law enforcement officers who often are known by the name reserve or
auxiliary.

Weinblatt is no stranger to the topic having worked on all sides of the fence.  He has served as a reserve
officer, reserve administrator, reserve liaison officer, and police chief creating and overseeing a reserve
program.  He had a regular column on the concept, "Reserve Reports," which ran in Law and Order: the
Magazine for Police Management for a decade.  He has travelled across the country making presentation
on the reserve area of law enforcement and authored the book
Reserve Law Enforcement in the United

in 1993.

New "Weinblatt's Tips" Column Debuts on PoliceOne.com

(Orlando, FL, November 11, 2005)--  A new training advice, officer safety and other tips column debuted
today on PoliceOne.com (
www.policeone.com), a large law enforcement website.  Well-known police
writer Richard B. Weinblatt is authoring the new column called "Weinblatt's Tips."

This will be Weinblatt's second column for Police One.com.  His first column for the San Francisco-based
website, "The Police and the Press," launched on April 28, 2004.

Weinblatt has written extensively on law enforcement topics since 1990. He had a regular column in Law
and Order Magazine for a decade and he has also written for Police, Sheriff, American Police Beat, Narc
Officer, and others.

Weinblatt is an instructor in multiple disciplines. He is Florida Criminal Justice Standards certified in
general law enforcement topics, firearms, and vehicle operations, as well as holding instructor
certifications for Taser, pepper spray, and expandable baton. He holds the Certified Law Enforcement
Trainer (CLET) designation from the American Society for Law Enforcement Training (ASLET).

Weinblatt is a professor and program manager for the Criminal Justice Institute at Seminole Community
College in Sanford, FL.  He has worked in several regions of the country in reserve and full-time sworn
positions ranging from auxiliary police lieutenant in New Jersey to patrol division deputy sheriff in New
Mexico to police chief in North Carolina.

PoliceOne.com, based in San Francisco, California, is an Internet site devoted to the police
market.  According to PoliceOne.com, the website is "the world's largest source of Law Enforcement
information and services, (and) is the most comprehensive and trusted online destination for Law
Enforcement professionals, department decision makers and department decision influencers...with
90,000 registered Law Enforcement members representing more than 12,500 departments."  The
website states that they have almost four million page views per month.

New Career Column Set for Officer.com

(Orlando, FL, October 19, 2005)--  Officer.com (www.officer.com), a leading law enforcement news
website, has contracted with a long-time criminal justice writer to produce a regular column on career
issues for veteran officers.  Former police chief and current police academy manager/professor Richard B.
Weinblatt will write the monthly feature called Career Corner.  The first column "Online college degrees:
The good, the bad, and the ugly: not all degree programs are created equally," appeared today on October
19.  The second, upcoming column will cover "Chasing the police chief dream."

Weinblatt's Reserve Police Research Cited in Greenberg Book

(Orlando, FL, October 10, 2005)-- Richard B. Weinblatt's research and writings concerning
reserve law enforcement has been cited recently in Citizens Defending America: From
Colonial Times to the Age of Terrorism.  The book was published in 2005 by University of
Pittsburgh Press and was written by Point Park University associate professor and former
New York City Auxiliary Police officer Dr. Martin Alan Greenberg.  

Weinblatt's 1993 book on the topic, Reserve Law Enforcement in the United States: A
National Study of State, County and City Standards Concerning the Training and Numbers of
Non-full-time Police and Sheriff's Personnel, was referred to in Dr. Greenberg's book.  In the
acknowledgement, Dr. Greenberg wrote: "I am especially grateful to... Richard B. Weinblatt,
who has substantially contributed to the literature in the field of reserve policing."  Dr.
Greenberg's book focuses on the historical context of citizen policing.


Weinblatt addresses Florida Writers' Association Group in downtown Orlando












(Orlando, FL, March 17, 2005)-- Richard B. Weinblatt spoke in front of
members of the Florida Writers' Association at the downtown Orlando
Public Library.  The group was interested in a presentation that would be
"helpful to writers interested in authentic presentation of police and crime
related material."

The audience was made up primarily of fiction police crime and mystery
writers.  Members of the Florida Mystery Writers Association were also
invited to attend the presentation which was held on Thursday night, March
17, 2005, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.


The presentation for the writers covered realistic scenarios involving interview and
interrogation techniques, constraints on the use of technology in case resolution, and crime
scene processing.  

Also covered were use of force issues issues including the use of pepper spray and taser.  
Videos were shown on a large TV in the room of Weinblatt pepper spraying an officer (as part
of the officer's certification to carry pepper spray) and Weinblatt himself being shot with a
Taser.


Weinblatt In Who's Who Among America's
Teachers for Third Time

(Austin, TX, February 22, 2005)-- Richard B.
Weinblatt has been nominated for inclusion for the
third time in Austin, TX-based Who's Who Among
America's Teachers.  The latest inclusion is in the
Ninth Annual Edition of the book for 2005.

According to the publisher, "only 5% of our nation's
teachers are honored in each edition of Who's Who
and less than 2% are included in more than one
edition.  Weinblatt had been previously selected for
inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers
in 2002 and 2004.

Weinblatt Cited in Police Management Textbook

(Randleman, NC)-- Richard B. Weinblatt, was cited three times in the recently published 4th
Edition of Management and Supervision in Law Enforcement by Wayne W. Bennett and Dr.
Karen M. Hess.  The areas cited covered police reserves, creative funding for agencies, and
community volunteers.  The text book was published in 2004 by Thomson Wadsworth.  
Weinblatt has also been cited in previous editions of the book.








Weinblatt Interviewed on COPNET: The Police Radio Network

(Charlotte, NC, October 1999)-- Richard Weinblatt was interviewed on national radio in
October 1999.  The interview with Law And Order Magazine writer Richard Weinblatt aired on
COPNET: The Police Radio Network.  The show is based in Miami, FL, at WAXY-AM 790 and
carried by 100 radio stations nationally.

Interviewed by COPNET's "The Interrogation" radio show, by host and North Miami Beach
Police Chief Bill Berger, Weinblatt's interview was over eight minutes long and covered the
changing landscape of police chief positions.  The subject was the topic of a Law and Order:
The Magazine for Police Management article Weinblatt wrote as law enforcement professionals
came to Charlotte, NC, for the annual convention of the International Association of Chiefs of
Police (IACP).

Weinblatt, who lives and works in the Charlotte area as the Chairman of Public Services and a
Criminal Justice Instructor for South Piedmont Community College, also discussed his
observations as a police writer for ten years and how he started writing for Law and Order
Magazine.
